Bluebeetle is re-branding; Enter 7am.

bluebeetle => 7am

What? Why now? I don't get it.

Basically, we've changed. We are a far different company than the one that started along this path 8 years ago. We've learned a ton about what we can do since 2002. We've also learned a lot about what we like to do, and what we're good at. This re-branding is all about refining, and redefining our goals. It is the clearest way to tell you that we've changed a lot, and want you to know. We're smaller, we're faster, and we're more agile.

Some of the challenges we've encountered in the last couple years are external factors. The recent economic slump has changed the way services are delivered in just about every sector worldwide. That has kept us on our feet in order to make the adjustments we needed to. It hasn't always been easy, but we're committed to finding our way through.

We also want to say that we sure appreciate those clients who have stuck with us and been very patient in this challenging year. We hope that you can let us show you that we are making an effort to do better. We are not going to over-commit ourselves anymore. We will be more definite about time-lines at our end, and more directive about what we need to move forward on your project. You'll have homework too, and this will help us all arrive at your launch with all the work done at the same time.

On the flip-side, if we don't have time to do something well, you might have to expect us to say we can't do it... at least not right away. We can try to connect you with someone who can, or schedule it in for later. Typically we can turn around a 2 or 3 week timeframe on small and middle sized changes and updates. If it absolutely has to be less, and we have to push other stuff out of the way to squeeze it in, then we'll have to charge our rush rate because it means we're in the office on the weekends and evenings instead of hangin' with our families, and our families are important. The best thing for your project is to try to plan ahead, and let us know when we can expect your information or project. That way we all know when it's going to happen. If you miss your development slot; back of the bus for you.

Of course in all this we will try to be understanding, sometimes there are things that come that you didn't know about (boy, do we know how that feels!). We do need a set of guidelines to make it fair for our clients so the ones who are patient don't keep getting pushed out of the way by those who didn't plan ahead. Things come up, you're human. It's okay. We're human too.

What does it mean for our clients?

Everything! Your hosting, your project, and your service will continue uninterrupted. This is about continuing to find ways to serve your needs better. For clients who have been with Bluebeetle, the only thing that will change is that your cheques will now be made out to 7am. It's easier to spell anyways.

Actually, the reason we're rebranding is to make it clear that we're entering a new era. We're more efficient, more agile, and more scalable for a variety of sizes of projects.

The other thing you may find a bit different is that when you call, you'll get the person working on your project. No middle-men, no phone tag, no-one to make it more complicated than it needs to be. If your project is in web development, you'll talk to Lee. If your project is the design phase, you'll deal with mike. See? That didn't hurt a bit.

What does it mean for new clients?

It means that whether you need graphic design, website design, or custom development, you will find us focused and ready to find the best solution for your business. It also means that we are going to be pursuing ideas like our Pancake App that will make the web a better place for all users, our clients included. We will have the unique opportunity to integrate some of these solutions into sites that are truly empowering to our clients.

What are we still doing?

  • Knock yer sox off design for print and web
  • Logo design & branding (or re-branding)
  • Custom websites & web applications for a better tomorrow

What aren't we doing anymore?

  • Content entry. Our job is to build you a good Content Management System (CMS). Your job is to use it. Don't worry, we'll teach you how and support you when you need help.
  • Endless revisions. When we say final, we meant it. Changes = charges. Capice? This is not about being mean or putting our foot down, it's about teaching you how to get the most value from our services. We have enough ongoing clients that it really makes a big difference to us if you think through, revise, and re-read your text before it gets to us.
  • Quotes. We will give you an estimate. Scope changes mean price and timeline changes. What we like is to work with people that value the skills we bring to the table. Do you know someone that might want to work with us? Have them fill out our client application form.

7am? Really? What does it mean?

7am is new, fresh, and yummy. We're like a small-town diner serving up loving forkfuls of hash-browned design, logos sunny-side-up, and a side of web apps hot off the griddle. Who doesn't like something great first thing in the morning? 7am is an irreverent break from the usual, the past. 7am is a double-shot of espresso to your project. Get it? no? that's okay, at least it's easier to spell than the Bluebeetle thing, which most people didn't get either.

If you have questions, you can leave a comment here, send us a message on the contact form, or please feel free to give us a call at 250.489.0377 and we'll be happy to explain ourselves in more detail.

Thanks in advance for all your support!

Nice.

Even if the espresso should definitely come first in a metaphor about 7:00 am starts.

Look forward to finding ways to work together and sending lots of well-scheduled, clear, interesting, well-paid projects your way.
